Just three years later he took an opportunity to found The Chimney Doctor, Ltd. specializing in chimney inspection, repair, and installation. He believes that problem-solving and continuing education are at the core of building a successful customer-oriented service business and always wants to put customer safety first in everything he does. He still strives daily to educate himself and his clients, and help people keep their homes, businesses and families safer.

Currently Daniel teaches as an instructor for one of the largest education providers in the industry and teaches technical and business classes. He volunteers and serves on two standards technical committees or panels (STC0103 and STC0127) for Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and helps with the development, evolution, discussion, and maintenance surrounding many UL standards and tests.

Daniel has a Bachelors of Science in Marketing Management and a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Strategy & Leadership from Western Governors University. He’s also been a part of various executive coaching seminars in both the US and Europe. Before founding The Chimney Doctor, Daniel had the opportunity to work as a Survival Instructor and In-Field Supervisor at the Anasazi Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to healing the parent-child relationship, and as a volunteer missionary in Quebec, Canada.

His education continues through many industry suppliers and organizations to make sure that he and his staff are up to date on the most current inspection and cleaning techniques, as well as any new chimney, appliance, venting, and fire loss information available. He is happily married and the father of five children and in his spare time enjoys volunteering in various capacities in his church, serving others, completing projects around the house, gardening, camping and traveling with his family.

Bill Fister - Operations Manager

Bill Fister - Operations Manager

Customer Experience Specialist, NFI Certified Hearth Design Specialist

Coming from over 20 years of running A Perfect Stone, a landscaping and masonry company with up to 18 employees at various points, Bill is an absolute delight to have on The Chimney Doctor team. He joined our staff in 2018 and both staff and customers have consistently agreed that Bill is a hard worker, straight forward, happy to answer questions, and enjoyable to speak with.

Bill served in the military in his younger years and highly respects those who have served as well. He has come to deeply understand chimneys and the issues that can arise and has made educating himself a priority so that he can explain issues to customers so they are easily understood. He is working on several certifications even though he does not go in the field as a technician himself. Focusing primarily on having positive customer relationships, formulating estimates for work to be completed, and answering questions Bill is an indispensable part of our family.

One of Bill’s passions stems from when he was an Investment Broker years ago, investing. Bill is an avid investor and enjoys watching the markets and playing the options as they move. Otherwise, he has a deep connection with his dogs, who have been with him through thick and thin. Both dogs spend their days at the office with Bill and bring energy to the team. If you have a chance to speak with Bill on the phone we hope you find your experience of him as pleasing as we have.

Amy Wishon - Office Assistant

Customer Experience Specialist

As a supervisor for a home care agency in the Grand Junction area Amy stopped by one day looking for a change. She drove all the way to our office specifically to ask if we were looking for anyone right then. We were greatly impressed by Amy and her motivation to seek out something more in line with her values. She was tired of working for larger companies and wanted to work somewhere smaller with more of a family feeling to it. In her spare time Amy enjoys four wheeling, camping, and the great outdoors. Amy has been a great addition to our team and we know you will be as impressed with her as we have been.
