Daniel Freeman is the founder of The Chimney Doctor, Ltd., which he established in 2016 after discovering his passion for the chimney industry in 2013. He built the company on the principles of problem-solving, continuing education, and prioritizing customer safety.
As of March 2025, Daniel is stepping back from daily field operations, focusing on strategy and finances while Bill Fister takes on the leading operations role.
Daniel remains active in the industry, serving as an instructor for a leading education provider and participating in three industry committees, including two Underwriters Laboratory standards technical committees (STC0103 and STC0127) and the NFPA 211 committee.
He holds a B.S. in Marketing Management and an MBA in Strategy & Leadership from Western Governors University and has completed executive coaching programs in the U.S. and Europe.
Beyond his professional work, Daniel values time with his wife and five children, enjoys hands-on projects, traveling, and remains actively engaged in his church, currently serving as an Interfaith Outreach Specialist in the Colorado Southwest Slope Area Communications Council.

Bill Fister - General/Operations Manager

As of March 2025, Bill has officially stepped into the role of General/Operations Manager. He brings with him over 20 years of experience running A Perfect Stone, a successful landscaping and masonry company that managed up to 18 employees at its peak. Since joining our team in 2018, Bill has earned the respect of both staff and customers for his hard work, straightforward approach, and willingness to answer questions with clarity and patience.
With a military background, Bill holds deep respect for those who have served. His commitment to education and customer communication has made him an invaluable resource for helping homeowners understand chimney issues in a way that’s easy to grasp. While he does not work in the field as a technician, he is actively pursuing industry certifications to expand his expertise.
Now leading daily operations, Bill focuses on customer relationships, estimates, and ensuring smooth project execution. His prior experience as an Investment Broker fuels his passion for investing and market analysis, which he continues to follow closely.
At the office, Bill is rarely seen without his loyal dog, Shasta, who bring energy and companionship to the team. If you have the opportunity to speak with Bill, we are confident you’ll appreciate his knowledge, dedication, and genuine approach as much as we do.

Amy Wishon - Office Manager

Amy first connected with The Chimney Doctor when she stopped by our office, looking for a change from her role as a supervisor for a home care agency in Grand Junction. Her drive and initiative immediately stood out, and it was clear she was seeking a workplace that aligned more closely with her values and family-oriented mindset.
Now serving as our Office Manager, Amy oversees all aspects of scheduling and customer follow-up, ensuring seamless communication and efficient operations. She plays a vital role in keeping the team organized and making sure our customers receive the attention and support they deserve.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys four-wheeling, camping, and exploring the great outdoors. She has been an incredible addition to our team, and we’re confident you’ll appreciate her dedication and warm approach as much as we do.

Rick Mancuso - Shop
Warehouse Manager
After 12 years at Sportsman’s Warehouse, Rick joined The Chimney Doctor and has been instrumental in organizing and maintaining our shop and warehouse. His strong work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving skills make him an invaluable part of our team.
Rick brings a positive attitude and sense of humor to every situation, making him a pleasure to work with. Whether keeping inventory in order or tackling unexpected challenges, he does it all with patience and efficiency. We’re grateful to have him on board!

Tammy Mancuso - Office Staff
Administrative Assistant
Since joining The Chimney Doctor in 2017, Tammy has been an invaluable part of our team, known for her genuine care and dedication to both customers and staff. For Tammy, family isn’t just a word—it’s a way of life.
Originally from Rochester, NY, she moved to the Western Slope in 2015 and has now relocated to Manti, UT to be closer to her grandchildren. Though she now works remotely, she continues to assist with payroll, customer follow-ups, and answering phones when needed.
Beyond her work, Tammy is a birth and postpartum doula, helping families navigate the joys and challenges of new life transitions. She has a long history of community service, including leading a large women’s organization for two years, directing youth enrichment camps for five years, and teaching youth improvement classes for over four years.
Tammy is Dear to 1, Mom to 6, and Grams to 9—a title she holds most dear. While we miss having her in the office daily, we’re grateful she’s still part of our team!

Wyatt Johnson - Lead Inspection/Service

A sharp young man with clear goals, Wyatt is quiet, polite, and committed to excellence. He takes his role seriously, ensuring that the systems he inspects meet safety standards and that customers are well-informed about any potential issues. His strong work ethic and dedication make him a valued part of The Chimney Doctor team.
Wyatt has completed the paperwork for a two-year mission with his church and is currently awaiting his assignment. While we know his time with us may be limited, we are grateful for the contributions he has made and hope to welcome him back in the future!

Stephen Rivera - Lead Inspection/Service

Coming from a background in pest control, Stephen has embraced the chimney industry with passion and dedication. Before Dan stepped back from daily operations, Stephen trained directly under him, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. Now, he has taken on the challenge of filling Dan’s shoes with excitement and a strong willingness to learn.
Stephen is patient, persistent, and always brings a good sense of humor to the job. He looks for the joy in life and is truly a pleasure to work with and meet.

Nicholas Sawyer - Apprentice Repair/Install

With an extensive background in construction, Nick has worked in nearly every aspect of the trade. While he continues to expand his knowledge of chimneys and fireplaces, he brings a wealth of experience, problem-solving skills, and a keen ability to keep projects moving forward—all while ensuring they meet minimum life and safety requirements.
His hands-on expertise and dedication make him a valuable part of The Chimney Doctor team.

Jessie Goettl - Apprentice Repair/Install

After six years in the HVAC industry, Jessie made the decision to transition into the chimney industry, bringing with him a strong understanding of venting systems and mechanical troubleshooting. Since joining The Chimney Doctor, he has proven himself to be a skilled problem-solver who is always willing to take on any task with dedication and a hands-on approach.
His experience and adaptability make him a valuable asset to our team, and we’re excited to see him continue growing in this field.

Carlos Martinez - Apprentice Repair/Install

Carlos has been a dedicated member of The Chimney Doctor team, consistently showing a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn. He has already applied to college and will likely be moving on in the spring, but in his time with us, he has proven himself to be a reliable and hardworking team player.
While we’ll miss having him on board, we appreciate his contributions and wish him success in his next chapter!
