What Sets A CSIA Certified Sweep Apart From The Rest
One look at the CSIA and it’s clear that this is an organization that takes public safety and professional education seriously. This nonprofit has dedicated the last 35 years to training and certifying sweeps, ensuring they know how to provide the best of the best for the areas that they serve. That’s why it has become nationally recognized, providing tips, techniques, and new technologies to sweeps in states all across the map.
So, what’s it take to become a CSIA certified sweep? Well, the process isn’t a simple one. Technicians must study for long periods in order to get the provided material down, after which they take an extensive exam testing their knowledge. There are also workshops and training sessions available for the sweeps to engage in, to further understanding and ensure everyone involved knows what they are doing.
Then comes the recertification process. Once a sweep has received their certification, it must be renewed every three years in order for them to hold onto it. This is also an extensive process which requires a sweep to retake their examination or acquire enough educational credits to show they have the knowledge necessary for the renewal. In an industry that’s ever-evolving, staying up-to-date is vital!
